Mezcal is a dev-friendly environment with the goal of better understanding the migration of Celo from a layer 1 to a layer 2 through experimentation.

These are testnets made for and by the Celo community — feel free to play around, test things out, and get ready for the CEL2 future. Our first testnet is an OP-Stack one that settles on Ethereum and uses Celestia underneath for data availability. You can connect to it via Metamask and start building with an RPC link, a faucet and an explorer. More testnets will be unveiled in the future.
